New trustees elected at the WWT AGM

We are excited to announce that WWT has four new trustees and a youth representative!

Please join us in welcoming Emma Brockie, Julie Scott, Kathryn Wallace, and Roger Somerville as our new trustees. Together they bring a diverse range of skills and experience to our board – from environmental science and law to public policy and community engagement. Nikau Farrell has been appointed our first youth representative to the board. Nikau is a student at Liger Leadership Academy and already has lots of great ideas on engaging youth with conservation.

Elected at our AGM in October, they have hit the ground running with a WWT strategy day already under their belt. Huge thanks to Kinross for providing a stunning venue for our strategy day, and to Sandra James of Connecting People for facilitating. We are excited about the future of WWT!

As we welcome new team members, we farewell others. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Warren Skerrett and Brett Butland who stood down at the AGM. Both have contributed hugely in their time with WWT, with Warren having been a trustee for many years. Best wishes for your new adventures, Warren and Brett!

We also bid farewell to one of our patrons, Bill English, thanking him for his support. We’re thrilled that patron Jim Boult CNZM is staying on for another term. Thanks Jim!
